About our Junior School

Our Junior School provides an engaging space in which girls can develop both their known talents and discover some hidden ones during various stages of their development.

Apart from our focus on the academic aspects of the curriculum, girls have an abundance of co-curricular activities from which to choose, helping them feel fulfilled, happy and successful in their education. Whole-girl development is important to us and we believe we provide the space and the opportunity for our girls to enjoy a happy, productive and successful day at school.

Our guiding values of balance, integrity, grace, community, accountability and trust are core to each child’s journey with us as they build sound foundations that will enable them to thrive and reach their full potential.

What our values mean:

Balance means …

• Finding a space I am comfortable in, and being happy with that
• Listening to other people’s viewpoints so that I can form a more objective perspective
• Finding the time to do the things I love
• Learning to say no

Integrity means …

• Being true to my beliefs and values
• Being consistent in my thoughts, actions and beliefs
• When I treat others with respect, I show integrity
• When I greet everyone with the same interest and level of enthusiasm
• Integrity is that feeling I get when I know it’s the right thing to do!

Grace means …

• Treating others with kindness and allowing for mistakes
• I am humble about my achievements
• To show mercy
• Putting others before myself
• Allowing people to grow and feel valued
• Giving us a chance at redemption, a second chance to get it right
• We show grace through our words, our actions and our reactions

Community means …

• Looking after one another and being there for others
• People who have gone before us, journey with us and come after us
• Community extends far beyond the walls of St Andrew’s; it extends to all we come into contact with

Accountability means …

• Making sure I do all my school and homework
• Bringing my games kit to school, being on time for lessons and taking control of my own actions
• Finding solutions to my problems and not passing blame
• I am part of this team

• Believing in others
• I know you can do it, and do it well
• Jump and I will catch you
• When I don’t tell other people my friend’s secret
• Safe guarding my friendships but being brave enough to have difficult conversations to improve my friend’s weaknesses
