Part Time Sesotho Teacher – January 2022

St Andrew’s School for Girls seeks to employ a part-time Sesotho teacher in the Senior School to facilitate the teaching of conversational Sesotho at grade 8 and 9 level.

The successful candidate will:
• Possess a suitable teaching qualification with the ability to teach Sesotho as a first additional language
• Be SACE registered
• Have good interpersonal and communication skills
• Be reliable, dependable and self-driven
• Be able to incorporate technology in their methodology – in class and online
• Appreciate working in a values-driven, Christian environment
• Be required to uphold the ethos and traditions of the school

• Have extensive knowledge of woodwind pedagogies
• Be able to teach class woodwind lessons using Nuvo Clarineo and jSax instruments
• Be able to teach across a variety of musical styles and genres
• Drive a growth in woodwind students
• Be passionate about teaching music in a progressive and innovative way
• Be able to nurture musical abilities in girls of all ages
• Display excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
• Teach and maintain standards of excellence in Subject Music pupils at Senior School level
• Be able to work effectively as part of a team dedicated to the care and development of girls
• Be computer literate

St Andrew’s School for Girls’ Bus Routes

  • The St Andrew’s Bus service is available to our students and staff, providing transport to the school from three main feeder areas in outer-lying regions, namely Benoni, Johannesburg South, and Greenstone.
  • The buses depart from St Andrew’s every afternoon, Monday – Friday at 16h30; except during lockdown regulations where no extramural/afternoon activities are permitted, the buses will depart from St Andrew’s every afternoon, Monday – Friday at 15h00.
  • The School will communicate changes in departure times as the regulations change.
  • Bus coupon booklets for 10 trips are sold at R550 for the Benoni and South routes, and at R250 for the Greenstone route. Each trip requires one coupon.
