Art and Culture

Through our Arts and Culture programme, students are exposed to a full range of musical, creative and dramatical skills that enable them to experience the joy of artistic expression.

Music

Scientific research has long supported the fact that learning music enhances cognitive skills. Our modern Music Centre offers an engaging environment where our pupils are free to join various ensembles, explore a range of musical instruments, and enjoy weekly class lessons that introduce them to basic violin, flute and marimba skills. We offer private music lessons in a variety of instruments for those who wish to explore their musical talents further.

Art and Pottery

Our pupils enjoy a weekly art lesson in our Art Centre, and they also have the unique opportunity to engage with the craft of pottery. Our Pottery Studio is used during the afternoons, as well as during class time and offers our pupils a space to explore the skills of design and creativity.

Drama and Public speaking

We believe that the skill of communication is vital to long-term success. We therefore invest in the art of public speaking from an early age and offer a variety of opportunities for our students to engage with both dramatic and oral presentation skills. We encourage our students to participate in at least one cultural activity or school club per term.

Sport

Our sports programme is a vital component of each student’s education. In the Junior School, we follow the long-term participant development programme that addresses our goal of giving each student the best chance of engaging in lifelong, health-enhancing physical activity. We focus on specific goals at each stage of childhood development, and we aim to give our pupils the best chance of reaching their full potential.

Apart from enabling our pupils to enjoy the many health benefits of physical activity, playing sport provides our students with an opportunity to grow in self-esteem and leadership. It teaches the importance of perseverance, teamwork, and sportsmanship, while allowing our students to experience the simple joy of playing with their peers. We encourage our students to participate in at least one sports activity per term.
