FOUNDED IN 1902, ST ANDREW’S IS A TOP INDEPENDENT, GIRLS-ONLY DAY AND BOARDING SCHOOL AND CO-EDUCATIONAL PRESCHOOL.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE ST ANDREW’S SCHOOL FOR GIRLS MATRIC CLASS OF 2018!

We are thrilled to announce that for the 30th year in succession our matriculation class has achieved a 100% pass rate with all girls qualifying for tertiary studies. The girls have written the National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations where candidates must write a minimum of seven subjects. No averages are reflected in these results. Some girls took on the additional challenge of Advanced Programme Mathematics and Advanced Programme English. These do not count for university points but extend the number of possible distinctions achieved.

The statistics below are based on the results of all our grade 12s:

  • The 30th year in succession that our matriculation class has achieved a 100% pass rate allowing all our girls to study at tertiary level
  • 96% of our girls received University exemption
  • A total of 245 subject A’s
  • An average of 2.93 subject A’s per student
  • 39% of all results were above 80%
  • 72% of subjects had averages greater than 70%
  • 90% of all results were above 60%
  • 74% of all students achieved a subject A
  • An average result of 74.67% was achieved by the year group
  • Half the year group completed an additional subject
  • Our 20 subjects offered were on or above the IEB average
  • 17 student results were in the top 1 % in the relevant subjects.

The position of the bulk of the marks are testament to the consistent depth of teaching and the academic development of the girls during their schooling at St Andrew’s.”

Mrs Acquisto, Executive Head, also commented on the wonderful achievements of the matric class of 201, “We express our gratitude and we acknowledge the deep roots of educational contributions made by the teachers at our Preschool, Junior School and Senior School who have played a part in the education of our girls to this point.

Our matriculants and parents of 2018 are now part of the significant community of alumni and we are looking forward to hearing their regular news going forward.

St Andrew’s is proud of you. Go well. Hamba Kahle.”
