Netball tour returns from Australia |
|
|
The U16 and U18 netball teams returned from their Australian tour having played in some tough tournaments. The girls played against five schools in Sydney. The U16s and the U18s both won 3 matches and lost 2 matches. In Brisbane they participated in the
Southern Skies tournament where they played against teams from New Zealand, Pakistan and Australia. The U16s lost 10 matches and won 2. We are very proud of our U18s who won 10 games and drew one, claiming the trophy in the final against MacGregor Netball (26 – 19)
After each match, each team had to nominate their own best player and also the best player in the other team. After all “votes” were counted, an All Star team in each age group was selected. Our own Nomlando Lukuleni was selected for the U18 All Star team.

Life skills day for the Daveyton Education Programme |
In June the Saturday School runs a different programme because the senior school girls are studying for their exams and are not able to help. On one of the days, the Saturday School has a life skills day and this year we focused on HEALTH. The day started with some games where the pupils learnt about AIDs and HIV. Later in the morning Mrs Dodge taught about the value of exercise; Confident Kids drama taught about the importance of cleanliness and Joline Geldenhuys and Heather Cook ran an art workshop looking at healthy eating and doing things for others. All in all, a fun and informative day. |
