Community service forms an integral part of education at St Andrew’s. Our girls are taught the importance of being involved with the less privileged members of our society. They are encouraged to participate as ‘up close and personally’ as can be arranged by the school, the houses and the outreach programme.
The School’s outreach education programme, Ubambiswano, is directed at schools in the Daveyton community. The Junior School plays a role in this very worthwhile programme by sharing their facilities every Saturday and by being involved in the fundraising activities.
School charities
Great emphasis is placed on the social responsibilities of the girls at St Andrew’s. Each house has a charity that the house members actively support through raising funds, through practical activities and through visits arranged by the housemistresses.
