St Andrew’s School for Girls, Johannesburg, South Africa

A top independent, girls-only private day and boarding school and co-educational preschool

Preschool

Our school is situated on a beautiful, huge playground alongside St Andrew’s School for Girls. The Preschool is co- educational and caters for boys and girls ranging in age from 3 months to 5 years.

Junior School

The junior school is a vibrant and happy place where young girls learn the skills they need for life-long learning and to become global citizens in the 21st century.

Senior School

Why a girls’ only school? This is of course, the preference of the individual, but the latest international surveys tend to highlight several very important reasons why this is increasingly becoming the option of first choice.

I am Carolyn Christophers.
St Andrew's has taught me to not be ashamed of who I am, to live up to my own expectations and to try new things before disregarding them.
My fondest memory is when the teacher's performed Hamlet. I’ve never been more proud to be in a school which wasn’t afraid to be unique and different.

Kerryn Herbst, grade 10, has been selected to represent South Africa for swimming in the Africa Union Sport Council Region 5 U20 Games, which will be taking place in Gaborone, Botswana from 7-16 December 2018.

Team South Africa comprises 220 athletes from nine sporting codes namely: athletics (incl. visually impaired), basketball, boxing, football, judo, netball, swimming, tennis and volleyball.

South Africa have in previous years dominated these Under-20 Games between the Region 5 countries which include: Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, South Africa, Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Mozambique, Lesotho and Swaziland.

The games, which are held bi-annually on a rotational basis, were last held in Angola in 2016 and Team South Africa did us proud by retaining the first position on the medals table, bringing home a total of 123 medals.

Wishing Kerryn all the best and we know she’ll make us proud!
